Brown Saddle Seat White Resin Stool - 49cm with stitched tan upholstered seat on a frosted white flared pedestal base, shown on a plain light background.
Brown Saddle Seat White Resin Stool - 49cm $2,42900
Description

This stool has an upholstered saddle seat in tan, dipping in the middle and rising at both ends, with a stitched seam running its whole edge. It sits on a flaring pedestal of four faces in frosted white, and the seat overhangs the pedestal all round, so the base reads as narrower than it is.

A Stitched Saddle on a Flared Foot

The pedestal is cast to four faces that flare as they drop, and the flare is what gives a base this narrow its footprint, so the four faces have to run true or the stool rocks. The frosting is worked over the whole outside and stopped short of a gloss. The seat is built separately: the saddle is shaped so it dips in the middle and rises at the ends, and the seam is stitched round the whole edge where the two faces meet, which is the slow part because the line has to hold through the dip. The seat beds onto the pedestal top across its full width rather than on a rim.

It suits a dressing area or the end of a bed as much as a hall. The dip in the seat is deep enough to be felt, so it settles a sitter into one position. The frosted pedestal takes no reflection and shows marks far less than a gloss finish would, which matters on a base that feet reach.

The Saddle, the Pedestal, and the Covering

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The saddle stitch is the governing step. Three of its features are open. The covering is agreed at order, the pedestal can be tinted rather than frosted white, and the seat can be made flat instead of saddled. The saddle width and the base reach are whatever you specify. Batched together, the pieces are made so the line of the stitching corresponds. The packing protects the stitched seat and the flared foot; moving it wants one person. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A tan saddle seat on a frosted white pedestal gives our art furniture a stool; the dipping seat suits our organic sculptures, the pedestal our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
