Brown Marbled Open Arc Curl Resin Sculpture, 80cm, C-shaped with swirled brown and cream tones and a rippled polished finish, on a plain white background.
Brown Marbled Open Arc Curl Resin Sculpture - 80cm $3,10300
Description

A C of marbled brown and cream resin that stands on its bottom arm, its opening turned to one side and its upper arm reaching out above. The brown and cream run the length of the arc in long swirls that follow the direction the material moved, across a rippled, polished surface, and both ends stop in a flat tear rather than a rounded tip, the end on the ground flaring up off the surface. It comes without a stand and rests along the underside of that bottom arm.

A Grain That Records How It Was Made

The marbling is not decoration here, it is what stops the form reading as a plastic curve. The two tones are drawn out into long swirls that record which way the material went, so the surface carries a history of the making in the way stone carries bedding. On a shape this simple that matters more than it would on a busy one: there is nothing else for the eye to do. Both ends are left as torn lips rather than rounded tips for the same reason: a tear shows how thick the wall is and a rounded tip hides it.

Broader than it is tall, it belongs on a console, a cabinet top or a wide low table where the whole curve can be read at once. It is met from the front: from either end the arc closes up and the opening disappears. A plain surface beneath does more for the marbling than a figured one, since two grains competing cancel each other out.

The Marbling, the Opening, and Delivery

Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The grain is run finer or coarser, the brown is lifted toward honey, and the opening is drawn narrower. The arc is also cast at other spans, and the opening between the two lips is set wider or nearly closed. A single tint is made in place of the marbling and produces a much quieter object, since the grain is the whole of what this one has. It is crated along the outside of the curve with both lips boxed apart, and two people carry it by the body and not by an end. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A marbled brown and cream C, standing open to one side on its bottom arm, sits comfortably among our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
