A log section is held in a block of clear resin. The block's faces are flat and its arrises square, and the log stands the full height inside it. Its sawn end shows through the clear top, ringed and split. Down two of the four faces the bark is left black and deeply broken, and between them a band of pale sapwood runs the whole height with the grain combed straight along it.
Its darkness comes from the proportion of bark to stripped wood. Two opposite faces keep their bark, and it is not brown but near black, broken into coarse vertical ridges that stand well proud of the wood behind them. The two remaining faces show the sapwood, which is a pale honey with a fine straight grain and no figure to speak of. So the object reads dark from one pair of sides and pale from the other, and turning it a quarter changes it completely. Where the bark stands proud the clear resin fills in behind it and the ridges appear suspended; where the sapwood is flat the resin margin narrows almost to nothing. The sawn end is the third surface again, warm and almost smooth, and it is the only one looked down on.
At 43.5cm, with its clear top level, the block stands as a low pedestal in a room. It stands on the floor beside a chair, at the end of a run of seating, in a hall or on a hearth, and it needs nothing under it. The end grain is the part worth showing, so a position looked down into earns more than one at eye level. Turn a bark face towards a low light and the ridges throw their own shadows inside the block; turn a sapwood face to the room and the piece goes quiet. A pale floor lets the clear corners disappear. Indoor use only.
Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. Two things are settled at order. The bark: two faces as here, all four for an object that is dark from every side, or none at all, which leaves the rings and the straight grain to carry it. And the clear margin, which is what decides whether the log looks set into the material or merely surrounded by it: the standard leaves a few centimetres at the corners, and a wider block gives more space around the timber at the cost of a considerably heavier piece. Species comes from what the studio holds and sets the tone of the sawn end, which runs from this warm brown through to a grey-green. Plan size and height are both made to order. One crate on a pallet built for it, and it comes as a single unbroken casting that needs no fitting; two people are needed to move it, because solid resin at this size weighs more than the eye expects. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Related work is in our abstract sculptures, with the clear body that holds the log in our resin sculptures and the family among our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
