Brown & Amber Fluted Stump Resin Sculpture, 45cm, with dark bark and honey wood streaks through clear resin, polished end-grain top, on a plain white background.
Brown & Amber Fluted Stump Resin Sculpture - 45cm $3,44400
Description

This stump keeps the waisted, fluted outline of its design and shows its timber in two tones. Dark brown bark covers most of it, and broad streaks of honey-coloured wood run down the flutes between the bark, glowing amber through the clear resin. The top is a polished disc of end grain, a pale ring of sapwood circling darker rings at the centre.

Honey Timber Streaks Through Dark Brown Bark

The two tones are what this version is for. Where the bark lies under the resin the surface reads deep brown, close to black in the hollows, and where the paler wood comes through it reads warm and translucent, with its grain and the odd knot visible inside the streak. The flutes bend slightly as they rise, following the stump's own swell rather than a ruled line, so each streak curves with the form and catches the light along its crest. At the outer edge of each flute the resin is clear enough to see into. Only the top is taken flat and level, and its growth rings sit plainly in the darker centre.

At 45cm it sits at seat height beside a chair or a bed, and the level top takes a lamp, a book or a cup. Side light from a window brings the honey streaks forward and lets the dark bark fall back between them, and since it has no back it can stand clear of the wall. It suits rough plaster, slate and raw linen. Indoor use only.

Choosing the Streaks, the Uneven Foot and Delivery

Count on the difference between standard and bespoke: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The balance of bark and pale wood can be steered at order, towards more of the honey streaks or towards a darker stump with only a few, and the flutes can be cut broader or tighter. Other heights depend on the stumps available at the time. The foot is left as the tree grew, so it may rock slightly on stone or tile until a felt pad goes under it. It is crated upright, and two people carry it by the waist. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

This two-tone stump is listed among our resin sculptures; for more natural outlines see our organic sculptures, or look through our full sculpture collection.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
