Bronze-Maned Guardian Lion on a Bird & Branch Column Resin Sculpture, 120cm, clear column with black and silver bird and floral motifs, white background.
Bronze-Maned Guardian Lion on a Bird & Branch Column Resin Sculpture - 120cm $4,11700
Description

The guardian lion at the top of this column has its head and mane finished in bronze, with the body below left clear, and it sits front facing on a pale square cap. Two scenes in black and silver run down the clear shaft beneath: a bird with a long trailing tail on a branch, then a thin stem in flower. Lion, cap and column come as one piece.

A Bronze Head Above Black and Silver Scenes

The bronze finish is kept to the head and the mane, where the carving is deepest, so the curls read as metal while the clear body lets light through to the cap. The bronze sits dark in the hollows between the curls and bright on their crowns, which gives the head its depth. The scenes inside the shaft are drawn only in black and silver, which keeps them from competing with the warmer bronze above. The cap is pale, so the lion stands out against it, and the arrises of the shaft are sharp to the foot.

At 120cm it suits a hall or a landing, beside a doorway or a stair foot, with the scenes at chest height for anyone passing. A light from above warms the bronze; a pale wall lets the black drawing read. Set it where the bronze head can be seen against a plain ground, not a busy one. A pair either side of a door works well.

Bronze, the Scenes and Delivery

Delivery follows a 3–4 week build as standard, or a 5–6 week build if bespoke. The head can be finished in bronze as here, in gold, or left clear, and the scenes can be drawn with bamboo, blossom or cranes instead. The lion's body can be gilded to match the head, and the drawing can be in black alone, without the silver. The cap can be pale as here or black. Any column height can be made. It comes laid flat in its crate and is stood up by two people. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A bronze-maned guardian lion on a scene-filled column belongs with our lion statues; a bird on a branch in the shaft leads to our figurative sculptures, and black drawing sealed in a clear casting joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
