Bronze & Green Etched Copper Table Top (130cm) with a rounded triangular etched copper surface framed by a translucent green resin rim, shown on a plain white background.
Bronze & Green Etched Copper Table Top - 130cm $9,24800
Description

This is a tabletop and nothing else, with no legs, base or frame supplied. Its plan is a rounded triangle, and an etched copper plate fills the whole face inside a raised rim of translucent green resin, so the whole piece reads as a sheet of worked metal held in a band of glass.

An Etched Copper Field Inside a Green Rim

The copper is the surface and the green is the edge, and the two do very different things. The plate is etched to a fine mottled pattern that catches light at a raking angle and reads as a flat warm brown straight on, with no polish and no reflection anywhere on it. The rim stands slightly proud of the copper all the way round, so the top has a lip rather than an arris, and because the resin is translucent the green lightens where the rim thins and deepens at the corners.

This top is for a base you already have or one made for it: a pair of trestles, a welded frame, a masonry plinth or a pair of the studio's own pedestals. It is not a piece to stand on the floor. The copper face is warm and matte, so it sits with timber, leather and unpolished brass rather than with glass and chrome, and the green rim is the only cool note on it. It reads best where a light rakes across the etched face rather than sitting above it. Indoor use only.

Ordering a Base for a Top Bought on Its Own

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. Because this is the top alone, the base is the decision that remains, and it is worth taking before the top arrives. The rim is the visible edge from every seat, so a base set well in from the outline shows it off and a base flush to the edge hides it. At this size the top wants support at four points or a continuous frame rather than a single central pedestal. The studio will make a base to the top at order, in blackened steel, polished stainless or timber, and will supply a dimensioned drawing of the underside if a base is being made elsewhere. On the top itself: rim colour is specified from the studio range, the etch pattern is set finer or coarser, and the plan can be drawn to another outline at the same thickness. It travels face up on a purpose-built pallet and is a two-person lift, carried by the rim rather than the copper. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

An etched copper face in a green rim belongs with our art furniture; its worked surface suits our organic sculptures, and the cast rim our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
