Broad Amber Cut Sphere on Marble Resin Sculpture - 90cm
Broad Amber Cut Sphere on Marble Resin Sculpture - 90cm $5,87200
Description

A broad amber ball opened by a turning cut into a pair of deep scoops. Amber runs to a dark brown at the rims and comes back to cream inside each scoop, and the two faces wind past each other on a wall that is drawn heavier here than it is at tabletop size. The black marble slab beneath it is included.

What Has to Change When the Span Doubles

A cut this broad cannot simply be an enlargement, and its proportions are redrawn for the span. The wall between the scoops is drawn heavier in relation to the ball than it is at any other size, the turn is opened out so that no part of it is unsupported for long, and the stone beneath is cut thicker than the look of the piece alone would ask for. None of the three shows unless you have another size beside it, and all three are why this one exists at all.

At 90cm it belongs on the floor or on a console with real width, and it needs room on both sides rather than height above it. A hall, a wide landing, or the end of a long room all suit. It should be given light from one side: overhead light falls into the scoops and fills them, which removes the difference between the cream centres and the dark rims that the whole object is built on. The stone wants a level surface, since the casting overhangs it.

The Span, the Stone, and Delivery

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The cut is drawn deeper, the amber is taken toward red, and the stone is offered thicker for a heavier stance. A deeper slab of marble alters how the piece sits, and the ball can be made to another diameter on request. A cooler tint is offered and holds up well here, since each hollow carries enough resin to give a colour that would look thin on a tabletop piece. Two crates carry it, the stone flat and the ball on its outer curve, and the lift wants two people for the span rather than for the weight. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

The broad turning cut belongs with our organic sculptures; amber that browns toward each rim leads to our resin sculptures, and a floor-standing ball for a generous hallway joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
