Blue Webbed Oval-Mouth Vessel Resin Sculpture - 20cm $1,68100
Description

A small rounded vessel of blue resin with a wide oval mouth cut through the top, the rim rising over it in an arch. A raised web of cells runs as a broad band from the rim down one side and across the front of the wall, its mesh fine near the rim and opening out as it descends, and it stops above a smooth foot. Cobalt is strongest at the rim and drains through the wall to a pale blue at the foot. Nothing is supplied under it; the vessel sits on its own rounded underside.

A Net Over a Lit Wall

A raised web on a curved wall has to stretch as the curve opens, and the openings in it have to grow with the curve or the pattern looks printed on. The web opens steadily from the rim downward and stops above the foot, where the colour has already thinned, so the two are read through one another and never quite line up. The raised web is formed with the body, which is why it stands proud with no sign of having been added. It is polished over the web as well as between it, so each raised line catches light along its own ridge.

At 20cm it sits on a bedside, a bookshelf or a desk. It is small, and it is made to be handled. It is small enough that what is behind it hardly matters. Light through the mouth fills the whole inside and makes the web read as a dark net over a lit wall. Nothing about it reads at room distance, and all of it reads in the hand.

Running the Web Higher, and Delivery

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The web is run over the whole wall, the cobalt is deepened, and the mouth is cut rounder. Run the web higher and the colour is re-graded to sit under it, since the web and the graduation are always seen together. One piece in a small crate, bedded under the foot with the mouth left clear, and there is nothing at all to assemble when it comes out. It is lifted from beneath, never by the arch over the mouth. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A small cobalt vessel with an oval mouth and a raised web of cells is shelved with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.

Questions Before You Order?

If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
