Blue Unequal Twin Crest Wave Resin Sculpture, 112cm, with two uneven curling crests over a dipping trough on a black marble base, set against a plain white background.
Blue Unequal Twin Crest Wave Resin Sculpture - 112cm $4,10300
Description

Two blue crests rise from the two ends of one deep, curving trough of water, set on the marble base it comes with. The crest on one side climbs well above the other and leans over at the top into fingers pierced with oval openings; the other stops some way below it and opens into a cluster of hooked fingers and one long, curving horn. The water between them dips low into the trough, so the two read as one wave rather than a pair, and the blue, deep in the trough, thins to clear towards the tips of both.

The Difference Between Them Is the Movement

Two crests of the same height would be a pattern. Two at different heights are a movement, and the whole of this piece rests on the gap between them being the right size. Too close and it reads as an accident of casting; too far and the second crest stops belonging to the same wave. What settles it is neither a ratio nor a measurement but the line the eye draws from one tip to the other: it should feel like a single sweep continuing past the second crest rather than a step down. The deep trough between them is what holds that line together.

At 112cm with its stone its width is nearly its height, so measure the surface across before anything else about the position. Its reach is more than many consoles offer, and a piece this size overhanging at both ends looks precarious even where it is not. A sideboard, a long shelf or a broad plinth all take it. It should be approached from the side the greater crest leans towards.

Setting the Difference, and What Arrives

Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. The two crests reach different heights, and that gap between them is where all the movement in the piece is. The difference between the crests is set at order, a teal is offered in place of the blue, and the stone comes in a pale marble. A version with a third crest between them is built where a busier piece suits. It travels on its back in a braced crate, each crest faced on its own and the trough bedded beneath, and only the trough is held when it is set on its stone. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two crests that refuse to match is organic sculpture; the tint sits in resin sculpture; and a piece this broad wants the measured surfaces of indoor sculpture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
