Blue Twisting Figure Resin Sculpture - 53cm, an abstract twisting form in translucent blue with a clear center, mounted on a black marble base against a plain light background.
Blue Twisting Figure Resin Sculpture - 53cm $1,68700
Description

A figure turning twice between foot and crown, the body left almost clear through the middle, on a block of black marble. Blue held along every edge and clearing through the body, so the form is drawn by its own outline. A small square block of black marble is supplied beneath it.

Edges That Count the Turns

A body that turns twice needs its edges marked or the second turn is lost behind the first, and colour is the cheapest mark available. A transparent body that turns twice hides its second turn behind the first, because both are visible at once and neither is marked. Colour along the edges is what separates them, and it is the cheapest mark available in a material that takes no line. Colour gathered at the edges of a turning body means the material marks every change of direction, and the twist is counted rather than guessed at. Polished over the whole figure, so the edges hold their blue as a line and not as a shadow.

A desk or a night stand, set where it can be turned rather than only faced. A pale ground behind it, so the clearing through the body reads as clearing. Light from behind empties the middle and leaves the blue edges standing; from in front it is a solid blue. There is no single place to stand with this one: the outline changes as you go round it.

Opening the Twist, and One Crate

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. We will open the twist, run another tint through the body, or make it at another height. Open the twist and the edges lengthen with it, since the colour has nowhere to sit but along them. Both parts share a crate, and the figure is lifted straight out onto its stone. One person, lifting by the marble beneath rather than round the figure. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue figure drawn by its own edges belongs to our organic sculptures; the turning casting joins our resin sculptures, and it rewards turning by hand, as others in our indoor sculptures do.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
