Description

An armchair shaped as a rounded tub, in glossy blue acrylic from the rim of the shell to the feet. The back curves forward on both sides into low arms and dishes down into the seat in one rounded form, and four legs taper away beneath it to small feet. The blue is deep and even, so from any side the whole chair shows a single colour.

One Deep Blue, Shell and Legs Together

A single strong colour on a moulded shell shows every change in the surface, so the mould itself is finished to a high gloss and the shell leaves it ready, with no polishing to soften its curves. The legs are made in the same blue and checked against the shell before they go on, since two blues a shade apart look like a mistake at a dining table. Where each leg joins the shell, the joint is kept small and neat, and each shell is checked for an even depth of colour from the rim down into the seat.

At 79cm it is a dining chair, and four or six of them round a white or pale timber table give a room a strong, clean note of colour. It also works on its own as a desk chair in a study or a bedroom. The blue holds its own in a room of white walls and grey stone, and daylight brings out the gloss on the curve of the back.

Blue to Order and a Chair at a Time

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The blue can be made deeper or brighter, or the shell moulded in another colour entirely, and a translucent version is made as well as this glossy one. Chairs are sold singly, so a full table is simply a quantity on the order. Each travels in its own carton with nothing to assemble. The legs can also be made clear under a blue shell, or in a contrasting colour. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A deep blue tub on tapered legs belongs with our acrylic sculptures; one colour carried from shell to foot leads to our organic sculptures, and a seat to bring colour to a pale dining room joins our indoor sculptures.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
