Blue Thick Curl Marble Bar Resin Sculpture, 160cm, a glossy blue C-shaped curl on a pale marble bar base, shown against a plain white background.
Blue Thick Curl Marble Bar Resin Sculpture - 160cm $5,19500
Description

A blue curl of cast resin, thick in section, that sweeps round on itself into a broad C and stays open on one side, with one end drawn up to a point and the other cut off square. The blue is flat rather than graded and sits evenly across the whole body. A pale marble bar is included and runs well past the curl at both sides, which is where the overall measurement comes from.

The Bar Is Twice the Curl

A sculpture set on a bar twice its own width is making a claim about the space around it rather than about itself. The curl could stand on a block cut to its own footprint and would then be an object on a plinth; on a run of stone this long it becomes the incident in a much wider composition, and the empty stone on either side is doing as much work as the casting. That is why the blue is flat and not graded. A colour that changed across the body would give the curl its own internal event and the bar would go back to being a base.

This wants a full console or a long sideboard with nothing else on it, and the bar should be seen end to end. Set it where there is clear wall behind, since the empty stone on either side only reads if nothing interrupts it. The bar is long and needs support along its whole length, not at the ends alone. The bar is twice the curl's own width, which leaves a clear run of stone on both sides and puts the sculpture in the middle of something rather than on top of it.

Bar Lengths, the Blue and Delivery

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. The square end is drawn to a point to match the other, the blue is deepened, and the bar is cut in black marble. Bar length is chosen when the piece is ordered, and the curl itself is run at other spans to sit along it. A bar cut nearer the curl's own length brings the piece back to conventional proportions and is offered where the run is not available. Cutting the square end to a point makes the curl symmetric, which is a calmer and much less interesting object. Two crates, one for the stone and one for the casting, and the long bar is always carried level, with hands under both ends. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A curl on a long bar is organic sculpture; the flat blue is cast into resin sculpture; and a run of stone this long is indoor sculpture console work.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
