Blue Textured Sweeping Hook Curl Resin Sculpture - 100cm, a curved hook-shaped form with deep blue tones fading to pale frost, shown on a plain white background.
Blue Textured Sweeping Hook Curl Resin Sculpture - 100cm $5,66700
Description

A hook curl of resin turning through most of a circle and resting on the lowest point of its turn, both of its ends lifting free on the open side, wide apart. The upper end sweeps up to a sharp point, and the end beneath it is cut off on a slant to a point of its own. Blue runs deepest along the inside of the turn and through the middle of the band, clearing to a pale frost at the outer edge and toward both ends. Nothing is supplied under it.

Texture at the Scale of a Room

At this scale the surface stops being a texture and becomes the way the object deals with daylight. At this size the texture runs over the cut ends as well as the faces, which keeps it from looking like a sheet somebody has bent, and it is why the two tips are worked rather than left smooth. The blue follows the turn: it gathers deepest along the inside of the curve, where the band bends hardest, and thins toward the outer edge and both points, so the hook reads darkest where it changes direction. Granulated over every face, the colour is broken into small points of light rather than lying flat.

Floor or plinth work rather than a table piece, and it wants a square metre to itself. An unbroken wall at the height of the curl serves it best, because the opening is most of what you see. Daylight suits it: the granulation goes silver in the sun and dull under a lamp. This one reads from the end of a room, and the surface is a near fact.

Changing the Span, and How It Arrives

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. The texture is worked finer, the blue is run out to the tips, and the arc is opened or closed to suit. Open the arc and the band is redrawn with it, so the blue still gathers where the curve turns hardest, and the two points can be drawn out finer at the same time. It is crated with the turn supported, and the hook is lifted from beneath the bottom of its curve, never by either pointed end. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Granulated all over and deepest blue inside its turn, this hook curl is shown with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
