Blue Swirled Ring Resin Sculpture - 51cm, an abstract organic loop in blue and white tones on a veined marble base, set against a plain light background.
Blue Swirled Ring Resin Sculpture - 51cm $4,41800
Description

A resin sculpture of a closed ring on a veined artificial marble base. The loop is not circular: it swells on one side, pinches on the other, and the opening through the middle is a soft irregular oval rather than a hole. Colour runs from an almost black blue at the outer edge through mid blues to a milky white that gathers inside the opening, and the whole surface is polished to a full gloss. A tall plinth made for it is available as an option.

One Closed Loop, Weighted to One Side

The interest is in how unequal the ring is. Follow it round and the material is at its deepest along the bottom left, thins as it climbs, and swells again at the top right, so the loop looks as though it has been drawn rather than turned. The opening sits off centre because of that, pushed towards the narrower side, and the white that gathers inside it reads brightest against the darkest passage of blue. Where the two colours meet there is no line: the blue breaks up into streaks and clouds over several centimetres. On the polished face the swirl carries right over the rounded rim, and no two rings carry the same distribution of white.

At 51cm on its own base it suits a sideboard, a broad desk or a console, and the base means nothing needs to go under it. Ordered on the plinth, it becomes a free-standing piece beside a doorway or in an entrance, with space left to walk round it. Give it a plain wall or a dark ground behind: against a busy background the opening stops registering, and the opening is the piece. It reads from any angle, so a spot approached from two directions is not wasted on it, and light from one side rather than overhead is what holds the depth in the blue. Indoor use only.

The Plinth Option, the Blue and Delivery

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. The plinth is offered as an option rather than included: the ring can be ordered on its own base, for a table or a shelf, or set on the tall plinth made for it, which lifts it off the furniture and onto the floor. On the sculpture itself, the blue runs from this near-black through to a mid azure that lets far more light into the material, and the resin can be tinted green or amber on the same form. The white can be pulled back to a thin veil or pushed until it fills the opening. It travels in two boxes, the ring cradled on its side and the base flat, and a plinth ordered with it is crated on its own. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Comparable forms sit in our abstract sculptures, comparable current work belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the blue casting goes with our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
