Blue Stacked Block Resin Sculpture - 100cm by Giant Sculptures, nine rough-edged pale blue resin blocks stacked unevenly, shown against a plain light background.
Blue Stacked Block Resin Sculpture - 100cm $4,52400
Description

Nine blocks rise one above another, no two of them squared to the same line. Pale blue through every block, with the broken faces reading white where they catch. Nothing is supplied underneath; the lowest block is cut level and carries the rest of the stack. Every face is left rough from the break, so the stack catches light along countless small edges.

No Two Blocks Meeting on a Flat Face

Every joint in the stack is between two broken faces and none of them is flat. A flat joint announces itself where a broken one has to be looked for, so the eye is never given a line to count from. Each block is drawn against the one below rather than to a section, and the stack leans a little as a result. Casting each block rough-hewn is what stops the stack reading as one object: the faces meet at angles that no two of them share, so the joins are found rather than seen. Every face is left as broken, with nothing polished anywhere on it.

Floor work for a hall or a wide landing, with room to be walked round. A dark wall behind it, or a pale blue stack against a pale ground loses every edge. Light from one side throws each block across the one beneath, which is what gives the stack its height. From a distance it is one column; the blocks separate as you approach.

Adding a Block, and One Crate on a Pallet

Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. We will add or take out a block, exchange the blue, or set the stack at another lean. Add a block and the ones beneath are drawn broader, since each has to carry what is stacked above it. How far it leans is settled before any of it is cast. Palleted in one crate, and the whole stack goes down together. Three people and a trolley, hands at the lowest block. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A stack of broken blue blocks belongs to our organic sculptures; its rough-cast faces bring it into our resin sculptures, and a landing with room round it suits the stack among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
