Blue Splash Column & Pool Cast Resin Sculpture, 100cm, a twisting blue water-column rising from a spiky splash pool, shown on a plain white background.
Blue Splash Column & Pool Cast Resin Sculpture - 100cm $4,40700
Description

In this cast resin sculpture a column of water stands in the pool it has just risen from. The pool is a low spread ringed with a crown of jagged spray, as water throws up when something has just gone into it, and the column comes out of the middle of it and twists as it rises, opening near the top into a hollow crest pierced with round holes and a few finger-like spouts. The blue is vivid in the pool and carries on up the whole column in a lighter tone, paling only at the fingertips.

The Column and the Pool Are One Body of Water

A tall piece of sculpture usually stands on something, a stone block, a metal disc or a plinth, and the join between the two becomes part of what is looked at. This one has no join at all: the pool it stands in runs straight up into the column, so there is nothing anywhere on it for the eye to catch on, and the piece reads as a moment of water rather than as a sculpture on a base. That is the whole argument for the design and it is also what makes it awkward. A base can be made separately, checked and remade; here the widest and the tallest parts of the object are the same object, and the pool is both the thing that holds the column up and the crown of spray the eye meets first. Every spike of that crown has to look thrown rather than placed, or the moment is lost.

The pool spreads wider than the column, so measure the surface for the pool and not for the height. At 100cm it would usually be placed by its height, but this one is decided at its foot: the pool needs clear surface all round it with a margin, on a top that does not slope, and its crown of spray will not tolerate being pushed against a wall. Given that, the height is undemanding: the column simply wants a room with some ceiling over it. Light from low down goes into the pool and up the column; light from directly above lights the pool and leaves the column pale.

No Seam Anywhere Between Them, and Delivery

Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. There is no seam anywhere between the column and the pool it rises from, so the two read as one body of water and not as a sculpture on a base. The column is drawn to any height over the same pool, and its blue can be deepened along its length or let go sooner. The spread of the pool is set at order, the blue runs to a green or a smoke grey, and a stone base can be added where the piece is wanted lifted. It arrives in one braced case standing upright with the column faced its whole length, and it is unpacked by two people lifting it by the pool at the foot and setting it down level. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A column standing in the pool it rose from is organic sculpture; the two are one piece of resin sculpture; and the pool spreads wider than the column, which is an indoor sculpture measurement.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
