Blue Smoke Graded Mountain Range Resin Sculpture - 90cm, four peaks fading from deep blue at the base to clear white summits, shown on a plain light background with no base.
Blue Smoke Graded Mountain Range Resin Sculpture - 90cm $3,57700
Description

A range whose blue is densest along the foot and gone entirely by the summits. Four peaks rise from one continuous plain and the tallest stands a little left of centre. The grade is smooth the whole way up with no visible boundary anywhere, and it is deep from front to back, with no base.

The Colour Settles Instead of Capping

Every painted mountain in the world is dark along the foot and white across the top, because that is what snow does. This one is the other way round: the colour gathers along the foot and lets go as it climbs, so the summits are the clearest part of the object rather than the whitest. The effect is haze rather than snow - a range seen across a valley on a wet morning, where the far peaks are sharper than the near ground. It is a deliberate inversion and it only works if the grade is genuinely continuous, because a boundary anywhere in it turns haze back into paint.

The grade is read against what is behind it, so a plain ground matters more here than light does. Against plaster or a pale wall the blue at the foot has something to sit on and the clear summits disappear into it, which is the effect; against a bookcase the summits pick up whatever is behind them and the inversion is lost. It needs a surface with genuine front-to-back room as well as length.

Inverting the Grade, and Delivery

Delivery follows a 3–4 week build as standard, or a 5–6 week build if bespoke. The blue gathers at the foot and is gone by the summits, which is the reverse of a snow line and is the whole of the design. The grade is inverted so the colour caps the peaks instead, the blue is taken to a grey, and the ridge is made at other lengths. Inverting it gives the familiar reading and loses the haze, so it is worth seeing both before deciding. It ships in a long crate braced across the foot with each summit faced on its own, and two people carry it level. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Blue that settles at the foot belongs with our organic sculptures; a grade with no boundary anywhere puts it in our resin sculptures, and haze read against plain plaster suits our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
