A single blue wing standing upright on a slender rod, the scaling cut deep across the shoulder and the long trailing feathers drawn out below. The blue is deepest at the shoulder and runs out pale and frosted along the trailing edge. The rod and the square metal plate it rises from are part of what is bought.
A wing mounted on a single rod puts most of itself outside the support, so the shoulder is drawn heavy and the trailing edge thinned to answer it, and the plate is sized to that reach. The scaling is worked deepest across the shoulder, where each feather overlaps the next like a row of tiles, and eased along the trailing edge so the two still read as one. The wing is frosted and the metal brushed, a deliberate difference of surface between them.
Give it a surface the trailing edge can hang over, which rules out a crowded shelf. Set it against a pale wall, or the trailing feathers lose themselves in the ground. Two lamps rather than one: a wing takes light on one face only and the other goes dark. The eye starts at the shoulder and runs out along the trailing edge, and the wing is drawn to be read that way.
Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. We will make the wing at another height, exchange the blue, or set it on a plate of another plan. Widen the plate and the upright thickens with it, because what the plate answers is the reach of the wing. Wing, rod and plate are crated apart and assembled where it stands. Two people for the assembly, one holding the wing well clear. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A blue wing scaled like plumage belongs to our organic sculptures; the rod and plate carrying it are found in our metal sculptures, and a room where it is seen side-on keeps it among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
