Blue Ribbed Blade & Crown Cast Resin Sculpture, 115cm, rising from a black marble base with ribbed, feather-like blue-to-clear resin blades, shown against a plain white background.
Blue Ribbed Blade & Crown Cast Resin Sculpture - 115cm $3,39800
Description

This cast resin sculpture rises from a block of black marble as a narrow blade and opens out above it. Overlapping, feather-like scales climb its left-hand edge, a shell of concentric ribs curves across its middle, and at the top it breaks into a crown of clear, pointed leaves that overlap like feathers and rise to two tips. The colour runs from a deep blue at the foot to almost colourless in the crown, and the leaves are thin enough to see one through another.

A Blade Rising into Clear Leaves

Everything in this piece climbs from narrow to open. At the foot it is a single blade, deep blue and close to the axis; above it the form widens through a shell of concentric ribs, each arc sitting inside the next, while overlapping scales step up the left-hand edge like feathers on a wing. The crown is the same idea taken to its end: clear leaves laid one over another, so that where two overlap the outline doubles and where one stands alone it all but disappears against the light. The colour follows the climb, deep and dense in the blade and clearing through the shell until the leaves at the top carry almost none.

At 115cm overall it stands on the floor, its clear crown meeting the eye of anyone seated nearby, and it has one requirement: clear air above the leaves. The leaves rise to two points, and a low ceiling, a beam or a shelf close above them turns the gesture into an obstruction. A stair well, a double-height hall, a broad landing or a spot beside a tall window will all hold it. It reads from every side, the crown presenting a different outline from each, so it does not need a wall behind it. Light from above and in front is best: it passes through the clear leaves and throws their edges as lines onto whatever is behind.

The Crown, the Foot and Lifting It

Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. The spread of the crown, the height of the blade and the number of leaves are all matters for the order, so a version with a tight crown or one at gallery height can come from this design. Colour is agreed at order: this blue foot into a clear crown, an amber, a smoke grey, or a single colour throughout. It is handled at the foot of the blade and never by a leaf. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue blade breaking into clear feathered leaves, this crown of resin stands with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
