Blue Pointed Oval Resin Decorative Dish, 35cm, elongated boat-shaped vessel tapering to fine points, on a plain white background.
Blue Pointed Oval Resin Decorative Dish - 35cm $1,35300
Description

The Blue Pointed Oval Resin Decorative Dish is a shallow elongated vessel drawn to a point at each end, one tip softly rounded and the other needle-fine. The walls thin as they rise so the form lightens towards the rim, and the blue deepens through the belly of the dish where the material is thickest.

Thin-Walled Resin Vessel Drawn to a Point

This blue resin dish is cast and then worked back by hand until the rim runs to a knife edge, which is what lets so long a span read as light rather than heavy. The interior is finished as one continuous curve with no tooling marks left in it. Seen from the side, the underside sweeps in one unbroken curve from point to point while the rim above it stays a single fine line, so the whole dish reads as two clean curves that meet only at its tips.

It works as a centrepiece on a dining table, a coffee table, a console or a hallway chest, and it holds its shape well beside plain ceramics, pale timber and unpolished stone. This is a decorative vessel rather than tableware and it is not intended for food or liquid. Indoor use only.

Lead Time, Options & the Knife-Edge Rim

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. Alternative tints are offered from the studio range, and the span can be specified to order. A clear version is available on the same form, and the oval can be drawn broader where a deeper hollow is wanted. The rim is deliberately fine and will chip if knocked against stone, so we crate it in a fitted foam shell and ask that it is lifted by the body rather than the ends. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A slim blue dish tapering to two points belongs with our resin sculptures, our organic sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
