A boat, and the boat is a fish: the hull swells like a body, a row of dorsal spines stands along its upper edge, and a tail rises at one end. Inside, the surface is worked into rippled water rather than left plain. At the near end a figure sits on the gunwale in a wide conical hat, leaning back with a long oar held out over the side. Both parts are finished in the same deep blue.
Two objects in one piece have to agree, and here they are made differently: the hull is fibreglass, which is how a shape of that length is built without becoming unliftable, and the figure is resin, which takes the finer modelling. The two are then finished together so their blues agree, because a change of tone between hull and figure would split the piece in two. The figure is the exacting half. It is seated on the rim rather than in the bottom, so the contact is a few centimetres of thigh and the balance is carried by the oar and the hull between them; the seat is cut to the hull it will sit on and no other.
At 230cm the hull wants a wall behind it and floor on all sides: a wide hall, an atrium, or a room large enough to pass round it. It reads from the side, where the hull's curve and the figure's lean make one line, and it closes up from either end. A glossy blue takes on the room around it, so a floor with something in it and a window with a view do more for the piece than a plain white wall. It stands on the hull's own belly and wants level floor.
As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The two parts are made together as here or the hull is supplied on its own. The finish comes in this blue, in silver, in champagne or in graphite, and a matt finish is offered where a gloss is too much for the room. The figure's pose is settled at order - the oar out as here, shipped, or the hands empty - and the hat can be left off. Other lengths can be cut to order. It arrives in two crates, the hull cradled and the figure cased, and is seated on site by hand. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A hull shaped as a fish with a rower aboard belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures; a seated figure in a conical hat leads to our figurative sculptures, and a boat big enough to anchor a hall joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
