A chair moulded throughout in translucent blue acrylic. There is not a sharp edge on it: the back is a soft rectangle with rounded corners, the seat is dished, and the arms are tubes that curve out from the back and turn down into the front legs in one continuous run. The blue reads stronger in the tubes than it does across the back panel.
The blue is not even across the chair, and that is the first thing to notice about it. The tubular members read almost navy where they turn, and the back panel stays a clear mid blue you can read a room through; set the two side by side and the difference is plain. It follows the form of the chair rather than being printed onto it, and no two of these read quite alike. The mould is worked to a high finish so the shell needs no polishing after release, which matters on a compound curve where a polisher would flat the high spots. The seat is dished by a few centimetres, enough to locate a sitter without a cushion.
A translucent chair does something a clear one cannot: it puts colour into a room while still letting the floor show through, so a set round a pale table lifts the whole group without weighing it down. It is a compact chair and will tuck fully under a table. Strong daylight is worth having - the blue is at its best with light coming through it rather than falling on it, so a chair near a window earns its colour and one in a dark corner reads almost grey.
As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The blue can be run lighter or deeper, and the shell can be moulded in another colour from the same tooling. Arms can be left off for a side chair on the same plan. Chairs are priced one at a time, so a set of four is a quantity here. Each arrives moulded in one piece with nothing to assemble, boxed with the shell suspended clear of the carton walls, because a moulded curve takes a knock differently from a flat sheet. One person can lift it easily. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A shell rounded in translucent blue belongs with our organic sculptures; tubular arms running into the legs connect with our acrylic sculptures, and a set round a pale table joins our art furniture.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
