A long, low band of matt blue resin that lies along the surface and curls back over itself at one end into an open loop. At the other end it runs out, rises and twists into a broad, upturned end cut off on a slant. The blue runs the whole length with no sharp change anywhere along it, palest around the loop and deepening steadily towards the upturned end. Nothing comes under it, and the band rests on the surface along most of its length.
A band that curls back on itself sets up a question about which end is the beginning, and the piece never answers it. One end loops back over the run and the other twists up into a broad, slanted end, so the piece has a direction it never explains, and the matt surface keeps any highlight from settling the question. The colour adds a second answer without settling the first: the blue is palest at the loop and deepest at the upturned end. The surface is matt throughout, so the curl is read by shading and never by a highlight.
A coffee table or a broad sideboard suits it, where it can be looked down on. The surface under it matters more than the wall behind, and a dark one suits it best. Soft light from above is what this wants; anything hard flattens the matt surface completely. It is low enough to be missed from across a room and rewards being noticed from above.
Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The curl is drawn tighter, the blue is deepened, and the surface is polished. Tighten the curl and the run shortens with it, since the band is one length either way. It travels in one crate, bedded along the run so that neither the loop nor the upturned end takes a load, and it is lifted flat with a hand under the run near each end. The upturned end can also be kept flatter where a quieter line is wanted. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A matt blue band that loops back at one end and twists up at the other sits among our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
