A long, low teal ridge, polished smooth with nothing projecting from it. The profile rises once to the right of centre and returns almost to the surface at both ends, and soft folds run along its flanks. It takes little depth and stands on the surface itself with nothing at all beneath it.
Low and smooth is a hard form to make interesting, because every device is unavailable. There is no spire to catch the eye, no texture to hold light, no inclusion to look into and no edge to throw a shadow. What is left is the line where the ridge meets whatever it is standing on, and the whole object is judged on that single curve - how quickly it leaves the surface, where it turns, and how long it takes to come back down. Get it wrong and the piece is a lump.
It is low, so it can go where a piece of any height could not: in front of books, along the back of a sideboard, behind a lamp. Being polished and tinted it reads at a distance as a block of colour and only resolves into a landscape close to, which makes it a good piece for a surface people sit beside. Allow its full length and almost no depth at all.
Bespoke commissions take 5–6 weeks; standard pieces take 3–4. With nothing projecting anywhere, the line where the ridge meets its surface is the whole of the drawing. The height is raised, the teal is taken deeper, and the ridge is built at other lengths. Built up in height it acquires a silhouette and becomes a different kind of object, which is the comparison to make. It comes in one long padded box bedded under the full length, and one person lifts it out. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A low teal ridge rising once right of centre belongs with our organic sculptures; a polished casting with nothing projecting puts it among our resin sculptures, and a piece read along its line at a distance suits our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
