Blue Looping Knot Resin Sculpture - 70cm, a glossy blue looped form on a round black base, set against a plain white background.
Blue Looping Knot Resin Sculpture - 70cm $1,75400
Description

A single blue form turned back through itself and closed, resting on the bend of its own curve over a round base of dark stone. Blue through the whole loop at one strength, over a base that is entirely black. A round black base comes with it. The loop is open enough to look straight through, so the wall behind shows inside it.

A Loop With No Beginning

A loop that closes on itself has no beginning, so the base is the only thing telling you which way up it goes. Blue in a clear body doubles wherever the loop passes itself, and those crossings are the only fixed points in a form that is otherwise the same thickness everywhere. They are what stops it reading as a length of hose. A loop that closes on itself in a blue body means the material is read through twice wherever the form crosses, and those crossings are the deepest blue on the piece. Polished over the whole loop, inside the curves as well as outside.

It suits a desk, a console or a shelf, and wants to be somewhere you pass rather than somewhere you sit. A plain wall behind it, pale, so the openings inside the loop read as openings. Light from one side puts a bright line round the outside of every curve. The knot presents a different figure from every angle, and the crossings only line up from one of them.

Opening the Loop, and a One-Person Lift

From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. The loop can be opened out, the blue can be exchanged, and the base can be cut square instead of round. Open the loop and the plan widens with it, since the reach of the outer curve is what sets the footprint. Loop and base travel together in one crate. The base is placed where it is wanted and the loop is set down onto it. A one-person lift, made from underneath the base. Nobody should pick it up by the loop. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue loop closing on itself leads to our organic sculptures; the knotted casting is found among our resin sculptures, and more to catch the eye in passing is in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
