Blue Ice Texture Graded Cast Resin Bowl, 90cm, with rough icy exterior deepening from clear rim to cobalt base and a smooth glossy interior, on a plain white background.
Blue Ice Texture Graded Cast Resin Bowl - 90cm $9,99000
Description

This large round bowl is cast in translucent blue resin, the whole of its outside worked into a rough ice texture and its inside left smooth and glossy. The blue is graded from almost clear at the rim to a strong cobalt at the foot, so the wall appears to deepen as it descends.

Ice Worked Across the Whole Outside

The ice texture is modelled into the outer mould face over the whole bowl, so it runs unbroken round the form and down to the foot rather than stopping at a line. The inside is worked to a true curve and polished to a gloss, which is the contrast the piece is built on: a rough outside and a smooth inside on one wall. The blue is poured graded and the meetings are worked while the material is still live, so the colour deepens over a span and not at an edge. The rim is eased by hand all the way round until nothing on it will snag, and the foot is faced flat and true.

At 90cm it is broad enough for the floor itself or a wide low table, and since the blue deepens towards the foot, it rewards being looked down into as well as seen from the side. The rough outside catches light from any direction while the smooth inside holds one reflection, so a position with light from one side does more for it than an even wash. It is stable on its own foot and needs no fixing.

The Texture, the Grade of Blue, and Moving It

In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. Most of it is the ice texture. Three elements are left to you. The grade of blue is set at order, the ice texture is worked coarser or finer, and the inside can be left rough to match the outside. The bowl diameter and the bowl height are named by you. The grade of the blue is common to a single order and particular to it. The bowl rim and the textured foot are wrapped first and the piece travels upright in a cradle cut to its own curve, which four people lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Rough ice outside and smooth blue within place this bowl with our abstract sculptures; the ice texture suits our organic sculptures, its graded blue our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
