Blue Graded Twisting Column Resin Sculpture, 111cm, shifting from clear white at the top to deep blue at the base, on a black cube stand against a plain light background.
Blue Graded Twisting Column Resin Sculpture - 111cm $3,10400
Description

A slender column that twists all the way up, clear and frosted white at its head and deepening through pale blue to a vivid blue at the foot, its surface rippled at every turn. It rises from a tall, almost cubic black block that comes with it and lifts the column clear of whatever it stands on.

Blue Deepening Down a Twisting Column

A column this narrow has to be read along its length, and the grade gives the eye a direction. The top is almost colourless, so the twist reads as ripples of light; through the middle the blue arrives in patches where the resin folds, until at the foot it is a solid, vivid blue. The rippling is worked by hand along the whole height and never repeats, so the column looks drawn rather than turned. The tall block beneath is plain and black, which makes the blue foot read sharply.

It suits a narrow space: the end of a sideboard, a console, a niche, or a low plinth near a door or at the turn of a stair, where a slender vertical is wanted. Against a pale wall the blue reads clearly, and side light from a window makes the ripples catch one after another along the twist.

Grading the Blue, the Tall Block, and Delivery

Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. The blue can be carried higher or held to the foot, deepened toward ultramarine or paled toward ice, and the block made shallower or cut in a paler stone. The ripples can be cut deeper or shallower. It is crated upright on its block, with the slender head wrapped on its own, and one person can carry it by the block, keeping a hand clear of the column. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A narrow column twisting into blue belongs with our organic sculptures; clear resin deepening to a vivid foot suits our resin sculptures, and a slender piece for a niche joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
