Blue Graded Round Acrylic Side Table on Crossed Blades - 58cm $2,56400
Description

This acrylic side table has a round top in blue that runs deep at the head and fades away toward the floor. The base is two flat blades, each slotted halfway down its length and engaged into the other at right angles, so from above the support reads as a plain cross and from any side as a single upright. All four blade edges are visible through the top as lines converging at the centre.

Two Blades Slotted at Right Angles

A cross-slotted base lives or dies on the fit of the slot. It is cut to the sheet thickness less a fraction, so the two blades draw together under their own weight and stay square without adhesive; a slot cut to nominal size leaves the base loose and one cut tight will craze the acrylic at the corners of the notch as it is forced home. The notch corners are therefore drilled before the straight cuts are taken, which leaves a small radius instead of a stress point. Every edge is then flame-polished, including the inside of both slots, because those faces sit in the middle of the finished table where they are most seen. The grade is oriented so the deep blue is uppermost on all three parts.

At 58cm this is a table for beside a chair rather than in front of a sofa - tall enough to reach without leaning, small enough not to become a shelf. The crossed base takes up almost no floor visually, so two of them either side of a seat will not crowd it. Set it where light comes from one side: the blades then read as four separate edges rather than as one shape, which is what the construction is for.

The Slot, the Grade, and Assembly Without Tools

Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The top can be cut wider on the same base, or made square if a round top is too soft for the room. The grade is available in other colours and can be left out for plain clear acrylic. Nothing about this table is glued, so it arrives as three flat pieces - two blades and a top - in one slim carton, and goes together in under a minute with no tools at all. That makes it easy to carry up a narrow stair or through a loft hatch, and it can be broken down again just as easily if the room changes. One person manages the whole thing. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two blades slotted at right angles belong with our indoor sculptures; a blue grade fading from the head runs on into our art furniture, and a pair either side of a seat sits with our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
