This resin crest curls forward at the moment it breaks, its outer face worked into froth and running white while the water beneath it stays blue, and it stands on a low black base. The crest reaches right over, and its lip hangs clear of everything under it. Below the froth the blue deepens steadily to the foot, where it turns a deep, saturated navy, so the piece reads light at the top and heavy at the bottom.
Two surfaces meeting along one line is the whole of this object. The outside of the curl is broken up into froth, which scatters light and goes white; the inside is left smooth, which holds the blue and returns it. They meet at the lip, and that meeting has to be a clean line the entire way across, because the eye follows it the moment it finds the piece. A froth that creeps over the lip onto the inner face reads as a flaw rather than as foam, and a smooth patch on the outer face reads as a miss. Here the froth stops cleanly short of the lip, and the thin, smooth tongue beyond it stays glassy and clear.
The curl overhangs to one side, so it wants a surface it can stand back from rather than a narrow ledge. Set too near an edge the lip projects over nothing and looks precarious, and anyone passing will catch it. Put half a hand's depth of surface in front of the foot and the overhang reads as intended. At 105cm with its base it wants a surface low enough that the underside of the curl is still visible: a console rather than a dresser.
Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The outer face is worked into froth and the inner face is left smooth, and the two meet along the lip where the line has to stay clean. The depth of the blue is set at order, the froth is carried further down the face, and the curl is drawn tighter. The froth can also be left off altogether where a plainer piece suits the position. It travels upright with the base crated apart and the lip of the curl faced and boxed against the body, and it is set down on its base where it is to stand. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A crest frothing on one face only is organic sculpture; the deep blue belongs to resin sculpture; and an overhang like this is indoor sculpture territory.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
