The wing rises from a scaled shoulder and runs out into long trailing feathers, standing clear of the plate on one upright. Frosted blue through the scaled shoulder, clearing to pale along the trailing feathers. A metal stand comes with it: a flat plate and an upright, with the wing set above the plate.
A wing carried on a rod is held at one point, so the weight has to sit over that point: the scaled shoulder is drawn heavier than the trailing edge for that reason and no other. The scaling is cut deepest at the shoulder and fades along the feathers, which follows from the same reasoning. Frosting the body is what makes the scaling legible: a polished surface would return the room and the eye would read reflections rather than feathers. Frosted over the whole wing, with the feather edges left crisp against the rod's darker sheen.
A desk or a cabinet top suits it, set where the trailing edge hangs clear of the surface. A pale ground behind it, because a frosted wing on a dark wall keeps no edge at all. Light from one side fills the scaling; light from behind turns the whole wing into a silhouette. The shape reads from across a room and the scaling is entirely a near fact.
Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. On request the wing is made at another height, the blue is exchanged, or the rod is finished bright. Set it at another height and the scaling is re-drawn rather than scaled with it, because a feather has a size of its own. One crate with the rod packed apart, and the two go together without tools. Hands on the rod rather than the wing, and one person. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A frosted blue wing held on a single rod leads to our organic sculptures; the rod and plate beneath it join our metal sculptures, and a study suits it among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
