Blue Frosted Shell Seat Cast Resin Chair - 64cm
Blue Frosted Shell Seat Cast Resin Chair - 64cm $4,58700
Description

A frosted cast resin chair in a soft, cool blue. The seat is one curved shell: it dishes at the middle, rises at the back into a low upright panel, and curls up at each side into a shaped wing that stops short of the front. Under it two flat legs splay outward in a continuous sled. The blue deepens along every cut edge and at the wing tips, and pales across the open middle of the seat.

A Shell That Curls Into Its Own Arms

The chair is one curved shell and it does three things at once. It dishes at the seat, rises at the back into a low upright panel, and curls up at each side into a wing that stops short of the front edge, so there is nowhere on it that a straight line could be laid. The wall thins slightly towards the rim, which is why the wings do not read as heavy. Under the shell two flat legs splay outward in a continuous sled and meet it in a curve rather than a corner. The blue is deepest along every cut edge and at the wing tips and palest across the open middle of the seat, so the outline of the shell is drawn darker than its face.

With its back panel stopping at 64cm, this sits low, and it works as a single chair at a desk or a dressing table as readily as it does at a dining table. The sled legs spread the load, so it stands well on a rug without sinking at the corners. Give it a plain floor: the frost passes light and the shell picks up whatever is beneath it. It suits a corner where it can be seen from the side, because that is where the wings and the curl of the shell read. Indoor use only.

The Wing Height, the Sled Legs, and the Colour Route

Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. Three choices are open. The colour route, which can stay this frosted blue, move to a tint you name, or run as one flat colour throughout. The height of the side wings, from these shaped wings that stop short of the front through to a plain tub with no wings at all. And the legs, which can be this continuous splayed sled or four separate tapered legs, which lifts the shell and changes the object considerably. Seat width and overall height are quoted to your figures, and a set is made together so the tint matches. One crate, and two people should lift it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Curling up into its own arms, this frosted chair belongs to our art furniture; the soft shell suits our organic sculptures, and the blue-tinted casting our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
