Blue Folded Boat Basin Panel Resin Sculpture, 44cm, a wavy-edged dished panel in deep blue with five black and gunmetal folded boats, one gold-toned, on a plain background.
Blue Folded Boat Basin Panel Resin Sculpture - 44cm $2,21900
Description

A square panel dished into a shallow basin, its corners lifted and its edges left wavy, with five small folded boats set across the surface of it. Deep blue holds the whole panel with a paler pool at the centre, and the boats are 3D printed in black and gunmetal, their inner faces catching a mirror silver and, on one of them, a gold tone. Nothing comes under it. The panel is made to lie directly on a table.

Water and Things On It

A flat panel and a set of objects on it are two different kinds of making, and the piece only works if they stay different. The panel is worked all over to a rippled, crackled surface like wind on open water, and the boats are 3D printed with their folds and creases left crisp, so nothing about them suggests they grew out of the material they are sitting on. The colour keeps them apart as well: the blue runs deep to the edges and pales in the middle of the basin, while the boats stay dark, with only their inner faces taking the light.

It belongs on a coffee table or a low sideboard, where the eye meets it from above. Nothing behind it matters; what matters is the surface it is put on, and a pale one lifts the blue. Overhead light is what this wants, so each boat casts its own shadow across the basin. The blue is what reads at room distance, and the boats are found on approach.

Adding Boats, and How It Arrives

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. More boats or fewer are set, the blue is lightened at the centre, and the panel is made at other sizes. Change the panel size and the boats are re-spaced across it, since they are set out to the dish and not to a grid. The boats can also be finished all in silver, or all in the dark tone, rather than mixed. It travels in one crate, laid flat, and it is lifted and carried level by the edges of the panel, never by a boat. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A dished blue panel with five folded boats sailing its rippled surface belongs with our indoor sculptures, our contemporary and modern sculptures and our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
