Blue Double Scroll Resin Sculpture, 46cm, two intertwined curling forms in shades of blue on a black cylindrical stand, set against a plain light background.
Blue Double Scroll Resin Sculpture - 46cm $1,68800
Description

Two scrolls turned against one another and meeting once, each ending in an open curl, lifted just clear of the surface on a cylindrical stand. Blue through the whole of it, deepest where the two scrolls pass one another and palest at the open curls. A black cylindrical stand comes with it.

One Crossing and Nothing Else

Two scrolls crossing once is the least a form can do and still change from every angle, and the crossing is the only place the colour is allowed to double. A form made of two curves has exactly one interesting place in it, and on this one that place is the small crossing of material where the two pass. Everything else is drawn to send the eye there. Two scrolls in one clear blue body means the crossing is the only place the material doubles, so the darkest blue on the piece marks the one point where it touches itself. Polished inside both curls as well as outside, which on a scroll is most of the surface.

A desk or a bedside table. The stand lifts it just clear of the surface and that is all the room it needs. A pale ground behind it, so the openings inside the curls read as openings. Light from one side rims each curl and leaves the inside of it dark. Every quarter turn gives a different figure, and the crossing lines up from one position only.

Opening the Curls, and One Crate

Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. Ask for the curls to be opened out, for another tint through the body, or for the stand in stone. Open the curls and the plan widens with them, since the reach of the outer scroll is what sets the footprint. One crate, the stand beneath, and the two are out of the packing in under a minute. One person and both hands, gripping the stand rather than the scrolls. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two blue scrolls crossing once lead to our organic sculptures; the scrolled casting belongs among our resin sculptures, and it changes with every quarter turn among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
