Blue Curving Four Blade Bud Resin Sculpture - 65cm with four curving blue blades rising from a round black marble base, shown on a plain light grey background.
Blue Curving Four Blade Bud Resin Sculpture - 65cm $1,88900
Description

Four slender blades springing from a common root and curving outward and over, like a bud opening, each one tapering to a point. Blue fills each blade at one strength from root to tip, so the four read as a single colour curving outward. A round marble block is supplied and all four blades spring from it.

Four Sections in One Place

Where several parts of a sculpture leave from the same point, the junction is the whole of the engineering, and here it is also the part of the piece least likely to be looked at. The four are not evenly spaced around the root and they do not curve equally far, so the group reads as something growing rather than as something arranged. Four blades springing from one root put four sections into the same place, and the casting has to hold all of them without a line showing. Polished on both faces of every blade, and the inner faces are the ones nobody sees.

A desk, a sideboard or a narrow console. It takes very little room. A dark ground shows the tips; a pale one loses them, which some people prefer. Light from one side runs up two blades and misses the other two, so the piece changes as you walk past it. The four read as one shape from away and separate at about two paces.

Another Blade, and Delivery

Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. More blades are set or fewer, the blue is deepened, and the curve is opened out. Add a blade and the four are re-spaced around the foot, since they share one root and one circle. Blades and block share a crate, the block underneath, and they are put together on the shelf they are going to stand on. One person, taken by the block rather than by any blade. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Blue blades springing from one root lead to our organic sculptures; the bud-like casting belongs among our resin sculptures, and more that changes as you pass is in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
