Blue Curved Wave & Gilt Leaves Resin Sculpture - 87cm, a curling blue wave with gilded leaves on silver wires, set on a white base against a light background.
Blue Curved Wave & Gilt Leaves Resin Sculpture - 87cm $2,02000
Description

A blue wave rises from a frothy spray at one side, runs round through a deep trough and climbs the far side, then curls over the top until its crest reaches back towards the spray it started from, stopping a narrow gap short of it. Twelve gilded leaves ride on looping silver wires that spring from the trough, cross the open centre of the C and swing out past the crest. The resin is a bright aqua blue, frosted white where the spray and the crest break, and the whole piece stands on a marble base.

Leaves Thrown Across the Mouth of a C

The wires are what the eye follows. They leave the trough as fine silver lines, swing up through the middle of the ring in long overlapping loops and carry on beyond the curl, so the leaves are strung out along paths that cross and recross rather than set in a single row. Each leaf is a small polished shape of gold, and every one is turned to its own angle on its wire, so the twelve never flash at once. Against that restless line the resin stays heavy and continuous: one body of water, deepest in colour through the trough and breaking into frosted white fingers at either end of the C.

The opening has to be seen through for the leaves to separate, so it wants light or a view behind it. Against a solid wall the gilding still reads but the arrangement collapses into a single band, which is most of the composition gone. A window, a mirror or simply a clear run of room behind it all work. At 87cm with its marble base it suits a sideboard or a hall console, turned so the ring of the wave faces into the room.

Reaching Further In or Further Out, and Delivery

Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. The leaves are drawn further into the opening or out beyond it, the blue is taken deeper, and the stone is supplied in other sizes. How far the C is closed is set at order as well, which changes the spacing more than the leaf count does. It ships as two crates with the wave upright and the leaves boxed on their wires, and the wires are set into the body where it stands. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Twelve gilded leaves strung on silver loops through a curling blue wave lead on to our organic sculptures, our metal sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
