Blue Curled Wave Resin Sculpture, 59cm, a curled wave form in blue and amber tones on a black marble base, shown on a plain white background.
Blue Curled Wave Resin Sculpture - 59cm $2,56400
Description

The wave curls round almost to a closed ring, the crest along its top worked into fine points that lean the way the water turns. Blue through the body with amber running under the crest, and the combed points nearly white. The gap left in the ring is wide enough to see straight through. A black marble foot comes with it, cut square.

A Curl Stopped Just Short of a Closed Ring

A curl taken all the way round stops being a wave and becomes a hole, and this one is stopped just short of that. The gap left open is the first thing found, so it is drawn wide enough to stay open and narrow enough that the curl still reads as one movement. Combing the crest into points is what separates the water from the body: the same material reads as smooth below and broken above, with no change of colour to help it. Polished through the body and left combed along both crests.

A desk or a low cabinet suits it, turned so the ring opens toward the room. Something pale behind it, because the ring is read as a hole and a hole needs a ground. Lit from behind the amber comes up under the crest; lit from in front it disappears into the blue. The ring is the shape that carries; the combing is a matter of the near view.

Combing It Further, and a Crate for Two

Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. Ask us to comb the crest further, to exchange the amber, or to cut the marble to another plan. Comb the crest further and the body beneath is thickened, since a crest worked that fine needs material behind it. The marble is cut to whatever plan the desk wants. Marble and casting share a crate and are placed together. Hands under the marble, and one person is enough. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue wave curled nearly shut belongs to our organic sculptures; the amber under its combed crest joins our resin sculptures, and a spot where the open ring faces you shows its turn among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
