A blue crown rises from a wide saucer of the same water, the two running into one another with no rim between them. The crown's walls break into fingers tipped with milky white, and two arms reach far out from it, one almost level and one climbing, both well past the rounded edge of the saucer, which catches a single line of light. The blue is deepest in the dish and lightens as the crown rises, so the eye is carried upward.
A splash standing in a dish invites one particular mistake, which is for the dish to become a stand. The moment there is a rim, a step or a change of finish where the two meet, the piece stops being water and becomes an ornament sitting in a bowl. So the saucer here runs straight up into the crown with nothing between them, and the change is spread across a hand's width rather than made at a line. Getting that right is a matter of a few millimetres: too quick and there is a visible shoulder, too slow and the crown looks as though it is sinking into the dish rather than leaving it.
Almost half of what it occupies is the dish underneath, so it needs a surface that shows the whole of its footprint. Overhang the saucer at a table edge and the piece looks unstable even though it is not, and set it on something narrower and the dish is lost altogether. A round table, a wide console or an island all carry it. Its arms reach out past the saucer on both sides, so the measurement that matters is the surface and not the headroom.
Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. The saucer runs straight up into the crown with no rim between them, and the water has to look as though it left the dish rather than being set into it. The blue is run darker in the dish than in the crown, the saucer is drawn wider, and a colourless version of the whole piece is made. The crown is drawn against the width of the saucer, so the proportion holds at any size. It travels in one crate built to the rim of the saucer with the crown faced and packed, and it is lifted by the dish and set down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A crown standing in its own dish is organic sculpture; the blue runs through resin sculpture; and a footprint this broad asks for the measured surfaces of indoor sculpture.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
