Blue Branching Splash Column Resin Sculpture, 100cm, with aqua-blue base fading to clear branching tips, set on a black rectangular stand against a plain light grey background.
Blue Branching Splash Column Resin Sculpture - 100cm $2,91700
Description

A column of pale aqua blue that climbs rather than spreads, dividing twice on the way up and running colourless at the last. The blue is deepest at the foot where the material gathers and has gone entirely by the second division, so colour and height run together. The divisions are not level with each other: the first happens low and to one side, the second high and on the other.

Climbing on a Plan Narrower Than Itself

A tall piece on a small plan has one problem and it is settled before anything else is drawn. Everything above the first division has to bring its weight back down through the middle of the branching and into a footprint narrower than the branching itself, and the material at the foot is doing two separate jobs while it does that: it is the visual mass that makes the rise look intended, and it is the ballast that keeps the whole thing from behaving like a lever. Neither can be adjusted once the form is drawn. It is also why the divisions are staggered rather than matched, because two arms leaving at the same height on opposite sides would put the load exactly where it is least wanted.

The branching is read against light passing through it, so it wants a window to one side rather than behind. Lit from directly behind, the arms flatten into a silhouette and the divisions disappear into one another; lit from the side, each one separates and the gaps between them open up. With its marble it stands 100cm, about waist height on the floor and at eye level on a low console, and either works. What it does not want is a low ceiling or an overhead spot, both of which push the shadow down into the branching.

Height, Tint and Stone, Set at Order

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. Its footprint is narrow for its height, so the load has to come down through the middle of the branching. The tint can be changed or left out and the column drawn to any height, while the marble beneath comes in black or a pale stone. The point at which the blue gives out is set with the height, so a piece that stays blue to the top is made where a stronger colour is wanted. It travels upright, the marble in its own box, and the column is set on the stone on site; that is the only assembly there is. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A pale blue column forking twice on its climb from black marble leads to our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
