Blue & White Rising Figure Resin Sculpture - 140cm, a twisting abstract form flaring into a trumpet shape at the top, on a tall black plinth against a plain light background.
Blue & White Rising Figure Resin Sculpture - 140cm $3,10500
Description

A rising form turning twice on itself and opening at the crown into a flared trumpet, carried on a plinth almost half the height of the figure above it. Blue at the edges clearing to white through the body, with the trumpet at the crown the palest part of it. Part of what is bought is the tall black plinth, a good part of the height.

A Plinth That Sets the Reading

A support this tall is not furniture under a sculpture, it is part of the drawing: it puts the trumpet at a standing viewer's eye and leaves the turn of the body below that line. Cut it down and the piece becomes something else. What the material does is let the far side of the figure show through the near one, so a form that turns twice is read as a depth rather than as a silhouette. Polished over the whole figure, and the inside of the trumpet is taken to the same grade.

It needs a hall or a landing, and the plinth is what puts the trumpet at standing height. It needs a wall to read against, dark for preference, since the white through the body has to be white against something. One source, high and to the front, fills the trumpet; light from beneath lights the plinth and leaves the figure flat. The eye is taken up the turn of the body and let go at the trumpet, which is the whole reason the crown opens.

Another Plinth Height, and Two Separate Lifts

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. On request the trumpet is opened further, the blue is exchanged, or the plinth is cut at another height. Set the plinth at another height and the reading moves with it, since the piece is arranged around where the trumpet meets a standing eye. The plinth goes down and is levelled first; the figure is only then unpacked. Two people for the figure and two for the plinth, and they are not the same lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue figure with a flared trumpet crown belongs to our organic sculptures; the white-cored body joins our resin sculptures, and a landing is where it meets the eye among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
