Blue & White Furled Form Resin Sculpture, 65cm, frosted resin with blue-to-white gradient on a black marble base, plain white background.
Blue & White Furled Form Resin Sculpture - 65cm $3,10600
Description

A furled form in frosted cast resin, set on a plain rectangular base of black marble. It turns back on itself several times as it rises, each furl held clear of the one below, while the colour runs from blue low down to frosted white at the crown. Under that gradient the black stone stays constant, and it comes with the piece.

No Two Turns Presenting the Same Face

A furled form is drawn so that no two turns present the same face, because a fold that repeats stops being a fold and starts being a pattern. The spacing is uneven for the same reason, so the count never settles into something the eye can run ahead of. A frosted body is why a furled form is read one turn at a time: the surface returns light where it lands, so nothing behind the front fold shows through it. Blue gathers in the lowest turns and gives way to white as the form rises, and the fold edges are left crisp.

A sideboard or a wide console, set where the furls face the room. Something dark behind it, so the white crown has an edge. Two sources rather than one: a furled form takes light on one face and leaves the next in shadow. The furls carry as one shape at a distance, and which of them is in front only settles close to.

An Extra Furl, Another Tone, and One Crate

Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. If you would rather more furls, the form is drawn with them from the outset, and the base is widened to carry them, since each one reaches further across than the last. Other tones are open to you, and this form is cast in orange and white as a piece of its own. The marble under the form can be cut to suit where it goes. One crate, with the base packed under the form. Two people at the crate, hands under the base. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Other forms that turn and fold as they rise are gathered in our organic sculptures, and more frosted castings are found among our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
