A closed bud on a square block, the body swelling from the foot and drawing in again to a narrow neck that is finished in gold. Frosted blue through the body with the drawn neck finished in gold, the only worked colour on the piece. A small square black block is supplied beneath it.
The gilt is the one thing on the bud that light stops at instead of passing through, and it sits where the body is thinnest so that the eye finishes there. Everywhere else the blue is read into rather than off. Frosting a blue body and gilding the neck puts the one opaque thing on the piece at its narrowest point, so the eye is carried up the form rather than held at its widest part. Frosted over the body and polished on the gilt, which is the only contrast of surface anywhere on it.
It wants a console or a mantel, where a piece with the footprint of a teacup will not be lost. A pale ground behind it, so the gilt neck reads as gilt and not as a highlight. Light from one side finds the gilt at once and the frosted body slowly; flat light reverses that. The gold at the top is what carries; the blue beneath it is a near fact.
Delivery follows a 3–4 week build as standard, or a 5–6 week build if bespoke. Ask us to leave the gilt off, to exchange the blue, or to make the bud at another height. Leave the gilt off and the neck stops being the destination, so the body is drawn fuller to carry the eye on its own. It arrives boxed with the block already beneath it, and setting it down is the whole of the job. One person, both hands, and the gilded neck is the one place not to hold it by. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A frosted blue bud with a gilded neck stands in our indoor sculptures; its drawn, simple outline suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the frosted body joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
