Blue & Cream Hooded Fold Resin Sculpture - 30cm
Blue & Cream Hooded Fold Resin Sculpture - 30cm $1,68700
Description

A single fold turning over at the top into a hood, blue up the outer face and cream where the hood closes over on itself. Blue and cream together, the blue running up the folds and the cream gathering under the hood. Nothing is included beneath it; the foot is cut flat and sits directly on the shelf.

A Shadow Kept Under the Hood

There is almost no depth to work with at this size, so the hood is the one part of the drawing that holds a shadow and it does the work the body cannot. Everything else on the piece is surface, and the two tones have to carry it. A single fold in a body this small has no depth to work with, so the frosting carries the whole of it and the hood keeps a shadow the material could not. Frosted over the whole surface, inside the hood as well as out.

A bookshelf, a night stand or the corner of a desk suits it, since it takes about the footprint of a mug. A pale ground behind it, so the cream under the hood reads as cream. The hood only fills when the source is off to one side; square on, the fold goes flat. Nothing here carries across a room; the eye is drawn to it only from close up.

Opening the Fold, and a Box Under One Arm

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The fold can be opened, either tone can be exchanged, and the piece can be made at another height. Open the fold and the hood loses its shadow, which at this scale is the only depth the piece has. It arrives in a box you could carry under one arm and needs nothing doing to it. One person, one hand, which is true of almost nothing else in the range. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A hood of blue and cream folded over at the top leads to our organic sculptures; its two frosted tones join our resin sculptures, and a footprint the size of a mug places it among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
