Blue & Clear Rearing Curl Wave Resin Sculpture, 150cm, curling wave form with glassy clear crest over a deep blue base, shown on a plain white background.
Blue & Clear Rearing Curl Wave Resin Sculpture - 150cm $11,16700
Description

This wave rears up from a deep blue foot and curls over at the top, its crest tipping forward and breaking into long fingers of spray that hang down in front of it. Along the top of the crest the water splits into a ragged row of points. The body is lined with the grooves of rising water, and the blue clears to colourless as the wave climbs, so the crest is bright and glassy.

A Wave Rearing Up and Tipping Over

The moment chosen is the instant before the wave falls: the crest has passed over the top of the curl and the spray is starting to drop. That is why the fingers hang down in front of the wave rather than streaming back, and why the whole body leans slightly forward over its foot. The grooves on its surface run upward and over, following the water's path, and the blue is held low, in the thick of the wave, so that the crest reads as light breaking through.

At 150cm it suits an entrance hall, a reception, a living room or a stair landing, seen from the front or from a little to one side, where the curl shows its depth. Against a pale wall the blue glows; against a dark one the clear crest sparkles. Light from above catches the hanging fingers of spray. Its foot spreads broad under the curl, so it wants a clear stretch of floor rather than a narrow gap beside a doorway.

Colour, Height and a Crate

Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The blue can be deepened, turned to green or aqua, or left out for a clear wave, and another height is possible. A green wave reads like a northern sea; aqua like the tropics, and a clear one like glass. The hanging fingers of spray can be lengthened or kept close, to order. It is crated upright with the crest braced and the hanging fingers of spray boxed in, and it is set down on its broad foot where it is to stand. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue wave rearing up and tipping its spray forward in long hanging fingers stands among our resin sculptures, our organic sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
