Blue & Clear Long Ridge Layered Acrylic Sculpture - 200cm
Blue & Clear Long Ridge Layered Acrylic Sculpture - 200cm $14,85600
Description

A mountain ridge drawn twice in acrylic: two summits above a waterline, then a flat-topped third rise and a long tail running out to one side, with the two summits turned over beneath the line as two inverted points, as a lake would give them back. Every line of it is a separate strip of acrylic laid on the one below, so the slopes step rather than slide. It is clear at the peaks and deepens to blue where the reflection gathers, darkest at the two points. A marble base is included.

A Ridge and Its Reflection Built Strip by Strip

A mountain made from stacked strips has no surface of its own; it is the edges of the strips that make the slope, and the slope is only as smooth as the steps are fine. That is why the steps are kept visible here rather than polished away. From straight on the ridge reads as one silhouette, and from any angle off the front it breaks back into its layers, so the piece changes character as someone walks the length of it. The blue belongs to the strips nearest the foot, which lets the reflected half hold its colour while the summits above stay almost weightless.

It needs a long surface or a long wall to stand in front of: a sideboard, a low cabinet, a reception counter with nothing else along it. Give it a plain pale wall and the ridge line is drawn against it cleanly; a busy wall swallows the upper steps. Light from one end rakes along the strips and picks out every edge. From across a room the ridge and its reflection read as one shape, and the layering appears only as you come closer to it.

The Ridge Line, the Blue and a Long Crate

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. Three things can be settled at the order. The summits can be drawn to a different profile, the blue can be taken higher up the strips or kept to the reflection alone, and the marble base can be exchanged for another stone. Change the number of summits and the reflection follows it, since each summit is repeated beneath the line. It is lifted on to its base by the body, with a hand under each end, and never by a summit or the tail. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
