Blue & Clear Breaking Wave Resin Sculpture, 82cm, curling wave form with a pierced loop and crests on a black base, set against a plain white background.
Blue & Clear Breaking Wave Resin Sculpture - 82cm $2,29600
Description

This long wave of resin breaks along its whole length. At one end the water rears up into a tall curl that hooks over at its tip; beside it the flow twists into a loop pierced by a single round opening, with a horn of spray flicking up beyond. Past a dip in the middle it climbs again into upright crests and runs out to a long, flattened tip. A vivid blue fills the belly of the wave and fades to colourless resin at the crests, and the piece stands on a squared base of black marble, which is included.

Vivid Blue Clearing at Every Crest

The blue sits where the resin runs deepest. Through the belly of the wave and the folds above the block it is a saturated azure, close to cobalt where the folds crowd together, and as the water rises towards the crests it pales until the curl, the horn and the far tip are almost clear. The surface is left smooth and glossy, rolling in long folds that follow the movement from one end to the other, so bright reflections slide along the piece as you walk past it. The black marble block beneath is plain and smooth, a dark, steady footing for so much moving colour.

Its long, low run needs clear surface at both ends, along a credenza or a sideboard, so the hooked curl and the outstretched tip each have open air around them. A pale wall behind it shows the blue at its most vivid and lets the clear crests read crisply against it, and daylight from one side makes the folds glint. Halls, living rooms and reception areas all suit it, wherever it can be passed along its length. Indoor use only.

Blue Depth, the Marble and Delivery

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. Made to commission, the wave can carry a darker or lighter blue, or one that climbs further so that only the very tips stay clear, and the block can be cut from another stone in place of black marble. Its overall length is open too, with the same flowing line kept. It travels in a padded crate with the marble block wrapped on its own, and anyone lifting the wave should take its weight under the belly, leaving the curl and the tips free. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue wave breaking from curl to tip over black marble earns its place beside our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
