Blue & Clear Arching Twin Crest Wave Resin Sculpture, 180cm, with two spray-tipped crests arching into an open ring over a sky-blue swell, shown on a plain white background.
Blue & Clear Arching Twin Crest Wave Resin Sculpture - 180cm $11,43800
Description

A wave in which two crests rise from a common swell and arch towards each other until their spray meets overhead, leaving an open ring of water between them, with a third, low crest lifting inside it. Spray breaks from every edge in fingers and droplets. The colour is a bright sky blue in the swell at the foot and it clears to colourless glass in the arching crests and the spray.

Two Crests Arching Until Their Spray Meets

Two waves that meet overhead make a gateway, and the opening between them is as much a part of the piece as the water around it. That is why the arch is kept wide and the ring left clear. The blue is held in the swell, where the water would be deepest, and lets go as the crests rise, so the colour describes depth the way real water does. The fingers of spray are drawn out long and end in rounded tips, like drops gathering at the end of a jet, which keeps them reading as water rather than as ornament.

It needs floor and width, a hall or a reception above all, so that people come towards it head on and see the ring frame whatever lies beyond. A plain wall or a view behind it gives the opening something to frame. Light from behind turns the blue luminous and sets the spray glittering. At a distance the arch and its ring are what carry; the spray and droplets are the close view.

The Arch, the Blue and a Long Crate

Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. There are three things to choose. The crests can be drawn to meet more fully or left with a gap between them, the blue can be taken higher into the crests or kept to the swell, and the spray can be made finer. Join them more fully and the crests are built heavier where they meet, since the spray has to carry across. It travels in a long crate laid flat, and three people stand it up and set it in place. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two crests joined overhead around a ring of open water, sky blue at the swell, bring this wave to our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
