Black Slab Gold Bamboo Cane Composite Console, 120cm, with a dark slab top on a squared panel leg and gold bamboo-style cane legs, on a plain light background.
Black Slab Gold Bamboo Cane Composite Console - 120cm $9,92300
Description

This composite console has a dark, near-black slab carried at one end on a squared panel leg and at the other on a bundle of gold canes worked as bamboo, which pass up through the top and rise clear of it. The canes are matched to one another, and the slab runs unbroken from one support to the other.

A Cane Bundle Passing Through the Top

The canes are worked individually to their bamboo profile, matched to one another for girth and node spacing, and the gold goes on after the tube is finished rather than into the mould, so it sits on a surface that is already true. The bundle passes through the top and is set from below, which is what allows the ends to stand proud without a visible fixing at the surface. The panel leg at the other end is worked square and true and finished to a flat black, so it takes nothing from the canes. The top is brought to plane along its whole run and checked before either support is fixed.

Made for a hall or a narrow stretch of wall, it needs clear space above, since the canes rise past the top; check the height to any shelf or picture first. The dark slab and the gold read against each other best with light from the side. The panel leg stands flat and the cane bundle bears on a small area, so a hard level floor suits it.

The Canes, the Panel End, and Other Lengths

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. Most of it is the cane bundle. There are three open questions. The cane count is open, the gold is offered in another finish, and the panel leg is drawn to your own proportion. Top length and cane height are both quoted on request. Both pieces of a pair share the height the canes stand proud when they are ordered together. The proud cane ends and the top corners are boxed away from every face, the canes travel wrapped along their whole standing length, and four people set it down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Gold bamboo standing through a black slab gives our art furniture a hall console; the cane motif suits our organic sculptures, and a hallway indoors our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
