Black Cone Stacked Sphere Glass Top Side Table (50cm) with smoked grey and amber resin spheres on a textured black cone base and disc, shown on a plain white background.
Black Cone Stacked Sphere Glass Top Side Table - 50cm $3,37500
Description

On this glass and cast resin side table a round glass top rests on two stacked resin spheres, smoked grey above and amber below, and those stand on a black cone base whose whole outer face is worked into a coarse crushed texture. Under it a smooth black disc spreads the load onto the floor.

Two Spheres Between a Cone and a Disc

The two spheres are cast and ground true, then bedded to each other and to the cone across their whole contact rather than at a point, and the stack is checked plumb before the top goes on. The crushed texture on the cone is modelled into the mould and the black is finished matt so it takes no reflection from the glass above. The glass is cut to the sphere and its edges are polished on both faces. The disc foot is finished flat underneath and its arris is eased, because it is the one part of the piece that meets a shoe.

At 50cm this is a drinks or a lamp table for beside a chair, and the glass top will take a wet glass without marking. The two spheres are the point of it, so it needs to stand clear rather than tucked under an arm, and the black base gives it enough weight to sit steady on a soft floor.

The Spheres, the Glass, and Setting It Level

Work on a bespoke commission runs to 5–6 weeks, on a standard piece to 3–4. Most of it is the sphere stack. Three aspects can be specified. The two spheres are offered in other tints, the cone texture can be worked coarser, and the glass is supplied smoked as well as clear. For the top diameter and the overall height, your figures decide. Both pieces of a pair share the tone of the amber sphere when they are ordered together. The glass edges go in padded and the two spheres are boxed apart from them, and two people set it down with the base taken first. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two spheres stacked between a cone and a disc set this table beside our geometric sculptures; holding a lamp or a drink it plays a role in our art furniture, and the tinted spheres belong with our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
