Black & Pale Split Waisted Resin Stool - 45cm
Black & Pale Split Waisted Resin Stool - 45cm $6,27400
Description

This resin stool has its waist pinched in at the middle. A stool built as a waisted drum: broad at the flat top, drawing in through the middle, and flaring again to meet the floor. Its surface is split vertically into passages rather than graded: a glossy black down one side, a pale passage beside it and a further dark passage beyond, with the boundaries between them running as wavy vertical lines from top to foot rather than straight.

A Waist Where the Black and the Pale Meet

The colour is split rather than graded and that is unusual enough to carry the piece. Passages of glossy black and of a pale tone run vertically from the top to the foot, their boundaries wavy rather than straight, so the drum reads as two materials set side by side rather than one coloured in two tones. The waist is where the passages narrow and cross most closely, which is why the middle of the stool is where the eye stops. The flat top is where the boundaries meet as a set of curves. No two are split in the same places.

At 45cm high the stool sits at seat height and works as a seat, a side table or a stand, and it is solid enough to be stood on. The split runs vertically, so it presents differently from every angle and it is worth turning it to choose which boundary faces the room. It suits a plain floor and a plain wall, since anything patterned competes with the split. Indoors only.

Where the Colours Divide, and the Height of the Waist

Delivery follows a 3–4 week build as standard, or a 5–6 week build if bespoke. The colour split is the slow part. Three specifications are yours. The first decision is where the split falls, and whether its lines stay irregular or are drawn straight for a sharper look. Then the colouring: this dark and light pairing, two shades of one hue, or one shade throughout. And the height of the waist, which can sit at the middle as here or be drawn up or down. The diameter and the height are open figures. Where two stools must share the same dividing line, they are best ordered together. With the flat top and the waist crated clear, one person can bring it in. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A waisted drum split into black and pale passages gives our art furniture a stool; its two-tone casting sits with our resin sculptures, the pinched waist with our organic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
