Description

A bear sits behind and holds a large heart tablet taken to a mirror polish, the animal itself left pale and matte from the bush hammer. The base slab carries a recessed planting tray in front of the figure, and the whole piece is one black granite.

Bush Hammered Bear and a Polished Heart

The planting tray is cut into the base rather than added to it, which means the base has to be sawn from a thicker slab than the piece needs and the tray sunk out of the surplus. Its floor is left rough so compost holds. The bear above is hammered to a soft grey while the heart it holds is buffed to black, and neither finish touches the other because each is masked before the next is worked.

A tray in the base means this is meant to be planted, so it suits a children section or a lawn plot where the family will tend it, rather than a position that is hard to reach. The polished heart faces forward and mirrors what is opposite, so keep the front clear. Ask the burial ground whether a planted memorial is permitted in the section you have.

A Planting Tray Set Into the Base

Nine weeks. The base is sawn thick and the tray sunk before anything above it is finished, because cutting a recess under a finished figure risks the figure. The heart is polished, masked, and the bear then hammered. The heart reaches you bare, with wording worked to order or left off entirely. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops. Around 622kg in two pieces, set by two people with a small gantry onto a poured concrete foundation.

Production Time

Every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of destination.

  • Sculptures under 50cm — shipped by air freight. Typical delivery 1–2 weeks after production is complete.
  • Sculptures 50cm and above — shipped by sea freight. Typical delivery 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

For larger sculptures where faster delivery is needed, air freight is available at additional cost — contact us before ordering for a quote.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

30-Day Returns

We accept 30-day returns on sculptures in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To start a return, contact us within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer's cost.

Bespoke and custom-commissioned pieces are non-refundable once production has started, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
